CX2000: multi-core express on a DIN rail
The new generation of Intel® processors from the 32 nm series with the code name “Sandy Bridge”, better known as the 2nd generation Intel® i3, i5 and i7 processors, is making inroads into numerous Industrial PC series from Beckhoff. With the new CX2000 controller generation, the high computing power of multi-core processors is available for the first time also in the DIN rail-mounted Embedded PC. The scalable CX2000 series will be presented with three basic CPU types at SPS/IPC/DRIVES: the x86 Intel® processors range from Celeron® single-core with 1.4 GHz and the Core™ i7 dual-core with 1.5 GHz, to the Core™ i7 quad-core with 2.1 GHz. An important feature of the CX2000 series is the internal bus system, which is based on PCI Express and is used to connect modular system or fieldbus interfaces with high bandwidth.

AM8000 highly dynamic servomotors:
single-cable solution reduces material and commissioning costs
Following a development period of just 1½ years, Beckhoff is presenting the new AM8000 motor series at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2011. The rotary synchronous servomotors, which are available in standard and in stainless steel designs, are characterised by high dynamics, energy efficiency and low costs. The highlights of the new series include salient pole-wound technology, high rated torque, long service life and the new single-cable motor connection with new feedback technology, with which the power and feedback system are combined in one standard cable.

I/O
Compact drive solutions
up to 5 A directly in the Bus Terminal
Beckhoff focuses on modularity and scalable
power in compact drive technology. The connections
in Bus Terminal format (IP 20) support AC and DC motors, stepper motors and also servomotors. EtherCAT Box
modules (IP 67) for stepper and DC motors are available for use without control cabinets.
Scientific Automation:
power monitoring in the I/O system
With the new product family “Power Measurement and Monitoring”, Beckhoff offers the possibility of power measurement and high-precision power analysis directly in the EtherCAT terminal system. The momentary values of current and voltage are recorded at up to 10,000 samples/s and are made available to the higher-level PC controller for calculations or analyses.
TwinCAT 3 Release
Following the detailed beta phase,
TwinCAT 3 will be released at SPS/IPC/DRIVES. The new, revolutionary engineering in automation technology will be introduced at the Beckhoff booth with presentations and interactive live demos. Embedded in Microsoft Visual Studio®, TwinCAT 3 offers the possibility to use C/C++ in addition to the IEC 61131 languages in order to program and debug applications in real-time. Modules developed in Matlab®/Simulink® can also be implemented in real-time via C/C++ code. Visual Studio® offers the familiar options for source code control, e.g. the integration of the Microsoft Team Foundation Server in the development environment.
