The CX8090 Embedded PC with 400 MHz ARM CPU and microSD card as storage medium features a total of three Ethernet interfaces: Two Ethernet ports with RJ 45 connectors and integrated switch functionality make linear “daisy chain” topologies possible, which can be extended inexpensively without additional hardware. Programming, commissioning or connection to the Ethernet network takes place via an additional Ethernet interface.
The Bus Terminal (K-bus) or EtherCAT Terminal (E-bus) system can be directly mounted side-by-side with the flexible CX8090 CPU.
Microsoft Windows® Embedded Compact is used as the operating system. The CX8090 controller is programmed via Beckhoff TwinCAT automation software, which includes numerous PLC libraries, e.g. for the execution of basic building functions, HVAC or for communication with DALI, DMX, EnOcean and M-Bus.
Pre-defined functions shorten the programming and commissioning of the building or individual subsections and considerably reduce engineering costs.
The CX8000 device family features an integrated, capacitive 1-second UPS, which in the event of a failure of the supply voltage, provides sufficient energy for saving remnant data. Important data are thus preserved in a non-volatile manner without a battery backup.
The CX8090 Embedded PC from Beckhoff is exceptionally compact and, due to its low-power
